Position Paper Topics - How Can We Use Elections To Form Strong Political Parties?
In my role as a facilitator for many political party and student elections, I have realized that many political and student organizations on campus spend their time and resources on candidate issues and partisan politics. Candidate issue education is important, but not if it is not tied to the next level.
In fact, many of the most effective candidates and activists for student issues have been those who take a more activist approach. This approach allows them to have a clear objective, speak out about problems, and ensure that the needs of their constituency are understood by the people they will be working with. It is in this spirit that we need to think about each topic for our position paper topics.
It is important to be able to say what the issue is, but it is also essential to understand how difficult work is needed to get results.
